Where can I hide?

DART Red, Blue, Green and Orange light rail stations and Dallas Streetcar stations qualify. Downtown Convention Center is closed and excluded. Irving Convention Center is a different, eligible station.

Silver Line, TRE, bus stops and M-Line stops do not create zones. You may travel on buses, M-Line, Silver Line and TRE through CentrePort. GoLink is excluded.

The spot must be public, accessible and free. Outdoor spots must be within 10 ft of a Google Maps path/road, including sidewalks. Indoor spots must be within 15 ft and visible from that path/road.

The map uses straight-line distance to an official GTFS station point. The document does not specify straight-line versus walking distance, station entrance versus platform, or all hiding-zone boundary details. Ask your referee before relying on a marginal point.

Schedule & round flow

Meet at 9 AM. Play 9:45 AM–5:30 PM, unless everyone agrees otherwise. Start at Commissary / Akard Station. Your planned game is Sunday, October 11, 2026; the document itself does not give a date.

The hider gets 45 minutes to travel and hide. Seekers must not watch them leave in good faith, except the listed single-line terminating-station exceptions. Hiders move inside their chosen zone until endgame.

After a find, the next hider starts from the found location. They have 15 minutes of planning with no movement, and may end planning early. Then their hiding window begins.

Standard game: the longest single hiding run wins, including card bonuses and penalties. The document does not clearly define whether the initial hiding window counts toward scored time—confirm with the group.

Endgame, breaks & safety

Endgame starts when seekers enter the hiding zone. Freeze in place until they leave or find you. If a question requires forbidden movement, answer “I cannot answer the question”; it counts as answered and earns the card draw.

Hider teams can split briefly for food/bathroom safety if at least one member stays and teammates know the location; no misdirection.

Hiders must always have a seeker's location. Share everyone’s location with a neutral third party. This app does not supply live team tracking; use Google Maps location sharing or Find My.

Rest periods require unanimous agreement, last 30–45 minutes, pause the hiding timer, and cannot start while on transit. Resume from the same positions. Bring water, snacks, sun protection and a charger. Minimize time underground at Cityplace/Uptown because of no cell service.

Questions & card rewards

Answer ordinary questions within 5 minutes and photos within 10. Late answers cost one minute per late minute and earn no card draw. A referee review can reset the answer timer under the stated exception.

Thermometer distances: ½, 3, 10 miles. Radar: ¼, ½, 1, 3, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, or chosen miles. Tentacles use qualifying museums, libraries, cinemas or hospitals within 1 mile of the seeker; the hider must also be in range.

Dallas adds closest-tollway matching and ZIP code higher/lower measuring. “Tallest Building Visible from Transit Station” and “Train Platform” photo questions are removed. “Building Visible from Transit Station” remains listed.

Cards, curses & photos

Start with a maximum hand of 6. Time cards improve the final hiding score. Powerups include discard/expand, duplicate, randomize, veto and move. Veto earns no draw. Move pauses hiding time while you relocate on its custom timer.

Multiple curses can coexist, but only one active curse may block questions or transit. Use Medium-game values; if a card lists 20/40/60, Medium is 40.

No seeker Street View, 360° photospheres or reverse image search. Base, satellite, hybrid and transit layers are allowed; static image thumbnails are allowed. The Unguided Tourist curse explicitly calls for a hider-supplied Street View image—confirm that exception with the referee.

Photos can be prepared during the hiding timer. They must be recognizable, not overexposed, and generally uncropped; zoom is allowed unless specified. Signs, addresses and business names/logos may be obscured. Tallest-structure photos have additional framing rules in the original document.

POI definitions

All question POIs must be in the game area. Airports need an ICAO code. Lakes/reservoirs and parks must exceed 0.33 km². Museums need a gift shop; cinemas must sell cooked popcorn; golf courses need 9 professional holes. Hospitals must be Texas DSHS trauma facilities or VA Medical Centers, not clinics. Tollways are NTTA toll roads or International Parkway between toll booths.

County, city and ZIP boundaries have specific matching/measuring questions. ZIP measuring uses its numeric value, not distance.

Split seekers & referee variants

Split seekers has two seeker teams and one hider team. Pick a scoring mode before playing. In timed mode the lowest seeking time wins, hider time bonuses add to seeking time, curses/time traps target one seeker team, and the hider sees both seeker locations. Any team finding the hider ends the round.

In points mode, first to find earns 1 point. Hiders are neutral, draw cards for the other seeker team after a question, and seekers curse each other and share locations.

The referee sees all locations, resolves disputes and can validate answers. Challenges pause the timer: a ruling against the hider costs 10 minutes; in their favor adds 10 minutes, with possible further time compensation. The challenge count is still “XX” in the document.

Over 12 players: at least 2 games, provided at least half are experienced; with 18, 3 games.

Confirm before starting

Distance method / zone anchor; whether the initial 45 minutes count in scores; challenge count; timed versus points variant; active curses. The pasted text lost green/yellow highlights and strikethrough, so it cannot identify tomorrow’s active curse deck. Several expansion cards are incomplete.

The terminating-station list includes Shiloh Road and DFW Terminal B, which are not light rail hiding anchors. A departure-watching exception does not override the explicit hiding-location rule.
